Mary Ann Lammers

Mary Ann has the privilege of wearing a few hats for our professional association, and hopes others will step forth and volunteer their time and talents to work with an incredible group of individuals who support business education in Oregon, the Western Region (WBEA), and NBEA.

Mary Ann is serving as OBEA president this year, and is optimistic that we have taken a good look at who we are in OBEA and that the officers will move the organization forward with our new vision and proactive Program of Work. She is serving in her eighth year as Consultant and will continue to bring the news from WBEA, NBEA, and ISBE. Her concern about the training of future business teachers in Oregon has given her the opportunity to serve as the Higher Education and Scholarship Director. She is currently working with business education teacher students at Oregon State University as well as the 11 other institutions in Oregon who are training business teachers.

Serving as the Professional Development Institute Director for WBEA keeps Mary Ann involved at the regional level. Her current NBEA involvements include serving as the WBEA representative on the Strategic Planning Committee, a member of the NBEA Nominating Committee, and the chair-elect of the Policies Commission on Business and Economic Education.

OBEA has been good to Mary Ann and has provided her with the skills and confidence to serve at the regional and national levels as well, culminating with her year as NBEA president in 2004-05. She feels humbled by the organization's vote of confidence and looks forward to the next year with enthusiasm.

Finally, Mary Ann's “real” job is Department Chair (16th year) and Faculty (24th year) in Business Technology at Linn-Benton Community College..
